A BCR-ABL RT-qPCR

Detail

A BCR-ABL RT-qPCR test is  a molecular diagnostic test that uses real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) to detect and measure the levels of BCR-ABL fusion transcripts in a patient's blood or bone marrow. This test is primarily used to diagnose chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other blood cancers, and critically, to monitor the effectiveness of treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) by quantifying the residual disease. It plays a crucial role in assessing treatment response and guiding further patient management by quantifying the level of the abnormal gene associated with the cancer.
